Unfinished Business

"Unfinished business" is a phrase you already use. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross gave it its meaning.

Elisabeth used it for the grief, anger, and fear we were never allowed to express — usually in childhood — that stay with us and quietly run our lives until they are finally finished. She built her Life, Death and Transition workshops to reach it, and she watched thousands of people set it down. This course teaches the idea as she taught it, drawn from her own book Working It Through and from the workshops themselves.

What you will learn

  • What unfinished business is, where it comes from, and how to recognize it in yourself and in the people you care for
  • The five natural emotions Elisabeth identified, and what each becomes when it is suppressed
  • Why the dying so often cannot let go until something old is finished — and how to help
  • What actually happened in a Life, Death and Transition workshop: the mattress, the phone books, the rubber hose, and why they worked
  • Elisabeth's stories from the workshops, including the ones she called the most significant of her career
  • How to begin finishing your own, safely, without a workshop

What's included
